Talkin' bout T-P

Teresa Perretta, aka “T-P” our operations hero needs no intro. here she is…

Tell us three things about yourself:

1. I have bright red hair.
2. I love to surround myself with passionate and positive people.
3. You usually hear me before you see me.

Why FUSIAN?

FUSIAN is life. We have a saying for that – SUSHI FOR LIFE! It’s everything. I walked in as a customer and I was immediately sold. I’ve always loved sushi but FUSIAN makes dining out fun, adds personality and a lifestyle around healthy eating. As a frequent customer the team learned my name and would start my order before walking up to the counter. It was my experience as a customer that got me hooked.

Now, as the Director of Operations and Human Resources (they call me “The Glue”), I am focused on making sure everyone has what they need every day to run successful restaurants where customers can walk in and have personalized experiences over and over again. We have the opportunity as a team every day to do things differently and change the world, one sushi roll, one customer at a time… and we do. I believe in every single team member and our overall vision.

What do you like most about what you do?

I have fun every single day and get to watch people grow and our customers smile.
It’s the best feeling in the world.

Dayton – Press (coffee)
Columbus – Mission (coffee) + North Star Cafe (food) + Thank Yoga (yoga)

Bucket List Item:

Hike the entire Pacific Crest Trail

What was the last book you read?

Amy Poehler’s book, “Yes, Please.” It was hilarious and I love female comedians from SNL.

Favorite seasonal veggie?

Roasted Red Peppers (typically debut in February)

What’s the one thing you are most proud of?

I am known for taking off on my own and going on adventurous trips. I am specifically proud of the first time I went to Colorado on my own when I was 21 and hiked the Flat Irons in Boulder, CO with a complete stranger. I fell in love with mountains there and since then I’ve hiked Camelback, Mt. Rainer, St. Mary’s Glacier, Red Rock Canyon and small parts of the Appalachian trail. I love hiking.

What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

My family. They are my biggest motivators and critics. My work ethic, passion and love for life and good people comes from them. They help me keep it real and give me the confidence to always be myself.

Childhood memories:

- I had a pet dog named Licky.
- My brother (accidentally) broke my arm when I was 6 and I got a Cincinnati Reds cast that Barry Larkin signed (who is my favorite baseball player of all time).
- My sister used to tease my bangs all the time because she was obsessed with the 80’s.
- My brother and I started a business at my grandma and grandpa’s house and made our cousins work for us.

Anything you’d like to add?

Beyonce.
