Meet Matt Shock: FUSIAN operating partner, Toledo native, hockey enthusiast, and one of the newest members of Team Fusian. We met up with Matt while he was learning the ropes in Columbus before he opens FUSIAN (toledo). We talked about Matt’s personal philosophy and how it compliments FUSIAN’s commitment to KAIZEN.
Q: Why Fusian?
A: I was looking for a company to grow with. Everyone I met made me feel welcomed and I could tell there was something different. There is a passion here from everyone and a belief that, as a team, we are making a difference and building something special. Now that I have been on the team in an official capacity I have seen even more of this.
Q: What is your first time customer tip?
A: Don’t stress, you can’t go wrong!
Try Matt’s favorite, our surf and turf roll with braised steak, crab mix, cucumbers, asparagus, wasabi mayo, sweet soy sauce, and sesame chili flakes — Order it here!
Q: What are some of your favorite places around Toledo?
A: The Black Cloister (downtown) and the Huntington Center to watch the “Toledo Walleye.”
Q: What’s on your bucket list?
A: Well, I would love to see a hockey game in every NHL Arena, but I would have to say that playing golf in Scotland (where it originated) is at the top of my list.
Q: What is the moment you’re most proud of?
A: My hole in one at Ottawa Park, it was at hole #5!
Q: What is your personal philosophy?
A: The classic line from Wayne Gretsky comes to mind, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” I also think that If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse. You never stay the same.
Q: What are your top 10 favorite songs?
A: Check them out on Spotify:
